Mr. Henley is the founder and President of Henley Capital Corporation, a registered Exempt Market Dealer and Portfolio Manager in Ontario and is a proprietary investor in a number of private companies. He has spent over 30 years in industry and investment banking financing and advising public and private companies covering the full range of industry sectors and market capitalizations and was formerly an officer at three of Canada’s largest investment banking firms.
Mr. Henley has served and currently serves on a number of charitable, industry and public and private company boards and is a former Chair of: West Park Healthcare Centre in Toronto; The Toronto Port Authority; and the McMichael Canadian Art Foundation in Kleinburg. Until August 2016 when the company was sold to OPKO Health, Inc. in the US Mr. Henley served as Chair of the Audit Committee and was a seed investor and board member of Transition Therapeutics Inc. for over 16 years.
Mr. Henley is a former board member of: the Exempt Market Dealers Association of Canada; Ontario Transport Capital Corporation -- the developer of Highway 407, the first all-electronic highway in the world; the Advisory Board, Faculty of Business Administration, Memorial University of Newfoundland; and the Governance Committee of the Ontario Cancer Research Ethics Board.
Mr. Henley has also served as Chair of the Judging Panel of the Canadian Software and IT Services Industry Awards, was a founding Co-Chair of the Premier’s Technology Dinner in Ontario, a founding member of the Ministers Technology Advisory Group for the Province of Ontario and a founding 100 member of the National Angel Organization in Canada.
Mr. Henley holds a B.A. from Memorial University, an MBA from Dalhousie University and in 2006 completed the Institute of Corporate Directors Directors Education Program at the Rotman School of Management in Toronto and received the internationally recognized professional designation, ICD.D.
